Return On Investment & Internet Marketing
We had a call from a local commercial attorney yesterday requesting pricing for a redesign of his web site. After a great chat about web design, Internet marketing and search engine marketing he insisted on getting the price right then and there. I gave him a range which instantly turned the conversation south. He asked me, “Well, what’s the return on investment there?” I have to admit I was a perplexed by the question and asked myself, is he really asking me how many deals he is going to close due to our efforts?
He was indeed asking that question. He explained to me that he had been burned by a company that cold called him and promised to get his 1 page ALL graphic website to the top of the search engines. They took his money and never delivered anything even remotely close to that result, and truthfully, there is no way that they could have and even if they had, his website was terrible and would never convert a prospect into a lead.
If done properly a website can truly be a revenue generator, if that attorney obtains ONE lead from his website from a business and is able to convert that lead, he paid for his website potentially six times. It is truly unfortunate that so many dirt bags exist that take your money, promise top ten results and NEVER deliver.
